Desert Ironwood Natural Edge Bowl

I do a lot of natural edge bowls out of Desert Ironwood. This is the finest I have done. The wood has very few cracks that are characteristic of large pieces of ironwood. It measures 8.5 inches in dianter and 7 inches high. I collected the wood from a private landowner in Fountain HIlls, AZ. This bowl was chosen to be one of six Arizona Governor’s Art Awards for 2010. The awards ceremony was held April 19 at the Old Orpheum Theater in downtown Phoenix.
